Little Kid is a Christian rock band but not in the expected sense. Kenny Boothby has been writing music about struggling with his religious views and their practical application in our modern society for years now and lately it’s been gaining a following. These soft lo-fi interludes beg the hard questions in life outward as if only half expecting an answer. Reminiscent lyrics cover topics like expectations from birth, joking yourself into an asshole, and remembering things that didn’t happen. One thing to note about this release is there are no electronic guitars involved which is VERY strange considering this genre is usually overly ripe with them. Even without the electric distortion they manage to keep things fuzzier than a kiwi on this record.
